BRISTOL, Tenn. – Four King University women's volleyball players were selected College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District.
Hailee Blankenship,
Abigale Jayne,
Claire Wilson and
Abigail Belcher all earned the distinction when the organization announced the winners on Tuesday.
Blankenship carries a 3.60 GPA while majoring in Human Biology. She was selected second team All-Conference Carolinas after leading the Tornado with 341 kills. She ranked second in Conference Carolinas with an average of 3.41 kills per set, and her average of 0.50 aces per set ranked her third in the league. She is a two-time member of the Dean's List and was named Academic All-Conference this year.
Jayne owns a 3.65 GPA and is majoring in Nursing. Jayne ranked third on the team with an average of 2.34 kills per set, posting 199 total kills. She also accounted for 39.0 blocks for an average of 0.46 stuffs per set. She has been named to the Provost's List twice and was named Academic All-Conference this season.
Wilson is majoring in Psychology and carries a 3.66 GPA. She anchored the back row for the Tornado this season, averaging 3.69 digs per set with 273 total digs. She has been named to both the Dean's List and Presidents List twice, and is a two-time Academic All-Conference honoree.
Belcher has a GPA of 3.87 and is majoring in History, with a minor in K-12 Education. She led the Tornado and ranked second in Conference Carolinas with an average of 1.17 blocks per set. She posted 70 total blocks, including 15 solo stuffs. Offensively, Belcher accounted for 55 kills. She has previously been named Academic All-Conference, and been named to both the Dean's List and the Provost's List.
The 2022 Academic All-District Women's Volleyball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender.
Student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve, playing in at least 50 percent of the team's games and have at least at 3.50 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale.
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.
