Bluefield, WV- The King University women's volleyball team made a statement to begin the 2026 season, sweeping both Glenville State and Clinton in straight sets on Thursday, August 28, at the Bluefield Invite.

Game One Recap: King (TN) 3, Glenville State 0 (25-15, 25-21, 25-22)
King opened the day with a convincing win over Glenville State. The Tornado hit .157 as a team and controlled the match from start to finish. Capri Johnson led the way with 8 kills on .538 hitting, while Isabella Statzer recorded 7 kills and 2 blocks. Avery Schwieger added 6 kills and 2 aces, and setter Ella Kiser distributed 17 assists and served an ace. King finished with 37 kills, 6 aces, and 4 blocks in the sweep.

Game Two Recap: King (TN) 3, Clinton 0 (25-13, 25-20, 25-14)
King carried its momentum into the second match, overpowering Clinton in three sets. The Tornado hit an impressive .300 and limited Clinton to just .088 hitting. Avery Schwieger led with 8 kills and 2 aces, Isabella Statzer tallied 6 kills and 2 blocks, and Ella Kiser posted 16 assists and 3 aces. Madison Singleton chipped in 3 kills and 3 blocks. King's defense shined, out-digging Clinton 33-28 and holding them to 18 kills on 80 attempts.
