Kuljak tabbed Conference Carolinas Swimmer of the Week

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Jan Kuljak had a pair of great performances over the weekend for the King University men's swimming team. Kuljak helped the Tornado to their first win of the year and was selected Conference Carolinas Men's Swimmer of the Week.

Kuljak put together a pair of solid performances within 24 hours, starting with a meters meet at Milligan University on Friday night. In the meet he finished third in the 200 meter freestyle (2:05.46), second in the 200 meter backstroke (2:21.74), fourth in the 200 meter individual medley (2:22.70). He also helped the 200 meter freestyle relay team finish second with a time of 1:41.28.

On Saturday at Mars Hill University and against Lees-McRae College he competed in three events. Kuljak won the 200 yard freestyle (1:50.05), finished third in the 500 yard freestyle (5:13.97) and helped the 200 yard freestyle relay team finish first with a time of 1:31.18.

This is the third Conference Carolinas weekly award for Kuljak in his career as he has won one each of the past two years.

The Tornado are scheduled to be in action again on Saturday when they host Emory & Henry College and Lenoir-Rhyne University at Tennessee HS at 1:00 p.m.
