Barton posts pair of PRs for King at Montreat Invite/Terrier Relays

SPARTANTBURG, S.C. – The King University women's track & field team had a solid weekend at the Terrier Relays. Kirstin Barton led the way for the Tornado with a pair of personal records.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Barton started the weekend with a personal record in the 10,000 meter run with a time of 38:56.99 at the Montreat Invitational. That mark ranks fourth in program history.
  • She followed that with another personal record on Saturday at the Terrier Relays, crossing the finish line in the 1500 meter run in 5:16.04. Her previous best was 5:32.87.
  • Also in the 1500 meters, Hannah Kusmierz finished in 5:01.69, giving her a 10th place finish in a field of 50 runners.
  • In the sprints, Neyasha Honorable set a personal record in the 400 meters with a time of 59.14 seconds to take seventh.
  • Honorable also finished 15th in the 200 meters with a time of 25.95 seconds.
  • Isis Smith also ran the 400 meters and finished in 1:02.99 to finish 16th.
