Two top-five finishes lead Tornado at McAmis Memorial tournament

BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University women's golf team finished up at the Agnes McAmis Memorial tournament Tuesday afternoon with a tournament score of 975 to take home fourth place at the event. Roxanne Nataf and Nicola Robertson led the way for King with their top-five finishes.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Nataf led the Tornado as she carded a 77 in the second round and followed up with a 76 in the third round to go with her day one total of 76 for a total of 229 to finish out the tournament. Her score ranked her third overall in the final tournament standings.
  • Robertson was right behind her teammate Nataf as she took home a fourth place finish at the event. The senior shot a 76 on both the second and third round of the tournament to go along with her 78 on the first day for a total of 230.
  • Samantha Taylor nearly cracked the top-10 with her 11th place finish. The senior carded a combined score of 159 for her last two rounds including a score of 77 on her final round. In total, Taylor shot a 243 for the tournament.
  • Morgan Powers was next to the standings for the Tornado as she recorded a 91 on both the second and third rounds. She finished the tournament with a total score of 274.
  • Shelby Zeiter recorded a combined score of 183 through the final two rounds. She would finish the tournament with a combined score of 275 for the Tornado.
  • Playing as an individual, Autumn Bergendahl finished the tournament with a three round combined score of 261. She totaled an 85 in the second round and 90 in the third.

FOR THE FOES

  • The top two finishers in the tournament were both from Tusculum College as Ciara Rattana took first and Cydney Murrell finished second. Rattana finished with a 224 while Murrell carded a 225.
  • Tusculum not only had the top two finishers in the tournament, but also took home the tournament trophy as a team. With a combined score of 936 the Pioneers shot 11 strokes better than the second place team, Shorter University.

UP NEXT

  • King will compete in the Conference Carolinas Championships April 15-17 at Cutter Creek Golf Club in Snow Hill, North Carolina.
