Box Score 2 BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men's volleyball team pushed their winning streak to nine match with a pair of wins on Saturday afternoon. King had to come-from-behind once again, defeating Eastern Mennonite University 3-2 before topping Alderson Broaddus University 3-0 later in the day.

HOW IT HAPPENED – EASTERN MENNONITE
- King used a 4-0 run to erase a 12-9 deficit in the first set, capped by kills from Eddie Moushikhian and Jeff Sprayberry.
- However, the Royals extended their lead to 23-19 and led 24-21 before King went on a run.
- The Tornado scored four straight points to take a 25-24 lead on a block from Jon Wheaton and Nick Drooker.
- The teams then traded points with King having the upper hand before the Royals scored back-to-back points, taking a 32-31 lead.
- Eastern Mennonite then scored consecutive points to take the set 34-32.
- In the second set, King scored three straight points to take an 11-7 lead following a Wheaton ace.
- The Royals came back and evened the score at 12, but King regained the lead and gradually extended the advantage.
- Adrian Besson eventually gave King the 25-20 victory with one of his eight kills in the match.
- The third set was tight the entire way until the Royals scored six straight points, turning a 22-19 deficit into a 25-22 victory to take a 2-1 lead in the match.
- King used a 4-0 run early in the fourth set to gain the lead and later scored five consecutive points to open up a 19-12 lead.
- Wheaton forced a fifth set, giving King the fourth set 25-19 with a kill.
- Sprayberry started a 4-0 Tornado run in the fifth set that give King a 7-4 lead with a kill.
- The teams traded points the rest of the set until Kiel Bell registered a pair of kills, giving King the set 15-12 and the match 3-2.
- Sprayberry led King with 27 kills and hit .477 in the match. He also accounted for seven digs.
- Moushikhian posted a double-double with 18 kills and 10 digs.
- Wheaton added 10 kills to go along with six block assists and one solo stuff.
- Drooker handed out 64 assists to go along with six digs and five block assists.
- Jimmy Nuckolls led the defense with 10 digs.
FOR THE FOES
- Josh Elmore led the Royals with 22 kills and 14 digs while William Ragland followed with 16 kills and 14 digs.
- Dan Lutz added 11 kills and Tim Callahan added 10 kills.
- Christian Taylor handed out 62 assists and Micah Buller posted 22 digs.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The 64 assists for Drooker mark a program record, and the first time any Tornado has eclipsed the 60-assist plateau in a match.
- The double-double for Moushikhian marks the second of the season for him. The other came against Barton College.
HOW IT HAPPENED – ALDERSON BROADDUS
- King grabbed the lead from the onset, scoring seven of the first nine points to force a Battler timeout.
- A kill from Dalton Johnson gave King a chance at set point as the Tornado took the set 25-13.
- Johnson and Sean Luhmann teamed up for consecutive kills, capping a 4-0 run that put King ahead to start the second set.
- The Tornado later scored five straight points, capped by a Matthew DeLong kill to take a 17-5 advantage.
- Chandler Christy gave King the 25-13 victory with one of his five kills in the match.
- The Tornado took the lead early in the third set and gradually extended their advantage throughout the frame.
- Moushikhian gave King a 14-9 lead with a service ace in the middle of the set and Christy capped the 25-21 victory with another kill.
- Moushikhian led the way with 12 kills, hitting .409, and adding seven digs.
- Drooker handed out 19 assists and DeLong dished out 11 helpers.
FOR THE FOES
- Timothy McIntosh led the way for the Battlers with 9 kills and five digs.
- Benjamin Bravo handed out 20 assists.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- King has won nine straight matches, their second longest winning streak in school history. The longest came in 2010 when King won 11 straight contests.
