Box Score GAFFNEY, S.C. – The King University men's volleyball team continued their hot start to the season with a sweep of Conference Carolinas foe Limestone College. Kiel Bell led the way for the Tornado, posting a double-double in the 3-0 win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bell tried to get the Tornado going in the first set with a kill and Jeff Sprayberry followed with a pair of service aces to give King a 10-8 lead.
- King held a slim advantage the remainder of the set, stretching the lead to as many as four points at 20-16.
- The Saints came back to get within on point on three occasions before Jon Wheaton gave King the 25-23 victory with his third kill of the set.
- King jumped out to an early 7-3 lead in the second set and used a 6-0 run to stretch their advantage to 15-5.
- Wheaton served up an ace before registering a kill and Nick Drooker capped the spurt with his lone kill of the match.
- Limestone answered with a 6-0 run to get within 16-15, but Bell was there to swing the momentum back to King with a kill.
- The Tornado held their lead there, and Bell later gave King the 25-21 win with his third kill of the set.
- In the third frame, the Tornado turned an 8-5 deficit into a 10-8 lead with a 5-0 burst. Drooker capped the spurt with a solo block.
- King later scored seven of eight points, including four straight points, stretching their lead to 18-11 following a Sprayberry block.
- Bell capped his career day with the match-ending kill, giving King the 25-17 victory to take the sweep.
- Bell led the way for the Tornado with 11 kills and 11 digs for the double-double. He hit .556 in the contest, making only one error on 18 attempts.
- Sprayberry followed with nine kills and four digs.
- Wheaton hit .500 with six kills and added a team-high four blocks.
- Drooker handed out 31 assists to go along with three digs.
FOR THE FOES
- Kevin Rocklein led the way for Limestone with seven kills.
- Nick Wildes posted seven digs and Logan Riley handed out 21 assists.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The double-double for Bell was his second of the season, the last one came on February 10 at Emmanuel College when he posted 11 kills and 11 digs.
UP NEXT
- King returns home on Wednesday night to host rival Lees-McRae College. First serve from the Student Center Complex is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
- Limestone travels to Emmanuel on Tuesday night.
