King holds two-round lead at Conference Carolinas Championship

BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C. – After two rounds of the Conference Carolinas Championship, the King University women's golf team still sits atop the leaderboard with a two-round total of 626. The Tornado shot 314 in the second round and were led by Anna Walker who is in second place with one round remaining.

Walker carded a team-low 74 in the second round, moving her up to second in the tournament with a total of 153. She is one stroke off the leader, Maddisen Cox of Converse College.

Nicola Robertson, Samantha Taylor and Cortnee Young are also in the top 10 for the Tornado. Robertson is in fifth with a two day total of 156 after shooting 79 in the second round while Taylor is ninth after shooting 80 in the second round for a tournament total of 158. Young carded an 81 in the second round, bringing her tournament total to 159, landing her in 10th place with one round remaining.

Elizabeth Swallow rounded out the squad with a score of 82. She has a tournament total of 162 and is in 18th place with one round remaining.

Converse's Cox leads holds the individual lead at 152 while the Tornado are atop the team leaderboard at 626. King shot 314 in the final round and lead the tournament by two strokes over Limestone College. The Saints shot 313 in the final round and have a tournament total of 628. Converse is in third place at 647, and Erskine College is in fourth at 648.

The tournament concludes with the final round at the Bryan Park Champions Course on Tuesday. The Tornado will tee off in the final round starting at 9:30 a.m.
