Prior to King:
- A native of Abingdon, Virginia, Statzer attended Abingdon High School before joining the Tornado.
- Statzer earned First Team All-District honors three times (2023, 2024, 2025), First Team All-Region honors three times (2023, 2024, 2025) and First Team All-State honors in 2025.
- She was named the Mountain 7 Player of the Year in 2025 and received Abingdon High School's Most Valuable Player Award.
- Statzer also helped lead Abingdon to the Class 3 State Championship in 2025 while serving as team captain.
- She holds school records for most kills in a game (27), most kills in a season (405), most kills in a career (1,463) and most blocks in a career (337).
- She finished her high school career with 1,463 kills, 337 blocks, 156 aces and 917 digs.
