BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University women's volleyball fell to Converse University on Friday night before defeating Young Harris on Saturday afternoon. Both matches went to four sets.

King 3 – Young Harris 1 (24-26, 25-17, 25-22, 25-19)

HOW IT HAPPENED – CONVERSE vs KING
- King opened the match with a 2-0 lead but back-to-back aces from the Valkyries capped off a 6-1 run.
- A second 6-1 run ended the first set as Converse won by a score of 25-16.
- Chloe Clayton and Isabel Krick led the offense with two kills each.
- Riley Nelson opened the second set with a kill with an assist from Amaya Hall.
- The Tornado trailed most of the set but tied the score at 20 with a kill from Clayton to force Converse to take a timeout.
- Coming out of the timeout, King won the set with four straight points out of a King timeout. Gracia Love started the run with a kill before Clayton had back-to-back aces. Cameron Martin finished the second set with a kill.
- Clayton had five kills and three aces to leader the Tornado's offensive effort.
- The third began with the two teams tied at 6 before Converse scored eight points unanswered to take a 13-6 lead.
- Another scoring run gave the Valkyries an eight-point lead before they finished with a 25-17 win.
- King opened the fourth set with a 4-0 lead off of two kills from Nelson and an ace from Martin. King held the lead for the first part of the set but a 12-4 run by Converse forced King to take a timeout as they trailed 16-11.
- Converse finalized the match with a 25-16 win.
- Nelson and Madison Blair each recorded three kills
HOW IT HAPPENED – YOUNG HARRIS vs KING
- Both teams traded points to keep the score close until a nine-point run by the Mountain Lions to take a 13-6 lead.
- King mounted a comeback in the second half of the set to take a one-point lead at 24-23 with a kill from Isabel Krick. However, Young Harris took the set by a score of 26-24.
- Ella Kiser had four kills in the first set while Cameron Martin had two aces.
- The Tornado had a slow build but found themselves up 18-9 and forced a timeout from the Mountain Lions.
- Amaya Hall sealed the set win with her second ace of the frame.
- The third set was categorized by back and forth action. The score was tied times and there was five lead changes. Young Harris had the longest scoring run, scoring four in a row.
- Madison Blair had five of King's 18 kills in the set.
- Gracia Love and Riley Nelson opened what would be the final set with back-to-back kills. While Young Harris would tie the score seven times, they would never take the lead.
- Each team had one four-point run. The Tornado's came late in the set – highlighted by two kills from Nelson and one from Kiser.
- Four King players recorded a total of 17 kills in the final set, with Nelson leading the way with six. She also added a solo block.
