WISE, Va. – The King University women's volleyball team finished competition at the Cavalier Classic hosted by UVA Wise. The Tornado will come home with a three-set win over Davis & Elkins while falling to Concord in a close match and falling to host UVA Wise.

HOW IT HAPPENED
King vs Concord
- The first set was tied at 4. However Concord got the momentum with five points in a row to go up 13-7 and would be leading as much as 8 before King attempted a comeback with a 9-3 scoring run late in the set but couldn't hang on.
- Chloe Clayton and Riley Nelson each had three kills in the opening set and Gracia Love had a service ace.
- The Tornado opened the second set with two straight points including a kill from Madison Blair. King held the lead the entire second set.
- The largest lead of five came off a kill from Isabel Krick to put King up 12-7. Nelson sealed the set win with a kill from Kylie Love.
- Blair would lead the set with 4 of King's 13 kills.
- King opened the fourth set with a 3-0 lead. The match was tied for the first time at 10 before the two teams traded scoring runs.
- Nelson forced extra serves with her kill to tie the set at 24 before Capri Johnson tied it at 27 but Concord scored back-to-back points to win the set.
- G. Love had 6 of King's 15 kills and K. Love had 8 assists. Faith Morse, Macey Snapp, and Amaya Hall each had a service ace in the third set.
- Kills from Krick and G. Love opened the fourth set to give King a 2-0 lead. King led until a five-point scoring run from Concord gave the lead to the Mountain Lions the lead, one which they would hold for the remainder of the game.
- Love added five more kills to her total.
King vs Davis & Elkins
- After the first set opening with a 1-1 tie, King took the lead with a pair of kills from Madison Blair and Capri Johnson. This mirrored the tone for the rest of the match as King dominated for the three set win.
- The Tornado's largest lead came with a 13-point lead at 20-7. Isabel Krick finalized the first set with a kill to secure the 25-13 lead.
- King quickly got to a 6-3 lead, helped with a four-point run with kills from Nelson, Gracia Love, and Capri Johnson.
- A seven point run halfway through the set put the Tornado up 17-8. Blair had three kills in that span and Kylie Love added a service ace.
- The second set ended with an identical score as the first.
- King continued the dominance but Concord got the closest in the third set. Blair and Cameron Martin each had 4 kills. Martin also had an ace.
King vs UVA Wise
- Riley Nelson started the match with a kill from Kylie Love.
- The Cavaliers maintained a few point lead throughout the first half of the match. A five point run halfway through gave the home team a 17-10 lead as King struggles to climb out of the hole.
- Isabel Krick had three kills in that opening set.
- UVA Wise quickly got out to a three point lead at the beginning of the second set. They ballooned that lead to as many as 12 late in the second set.
- The Tornado found some momentum with a couple of scoring runs early in the third set. A kill from Ella Kiser gave King their largest lead 9-5 but a four-point run by UVA Wise tied the score at 11. The Cavaliers then took the lead and would control the rest of the match.
- The second half of the set was very back and forth but the Cavaliers ended on a service ace.
