Asmund Norum of the King University men's golf team has been named to the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCCA) Division II PING All-Southeast Region team. Norum is now the second Tornado in program history to earn All-Southeast Region honors from the GCCA. He was the lone Conference Carolinas representative on the all-region team.
Norum, a senior from Inderoy, Norway, became just the second NCAA Division II national qualifier over the weekend, finishing third at the NCAA South/Southeast Regional to earn an at-large bid to the national championship.
This season, Norum finished with a 71.3 scoring average, which was the lowest single-season stroke average in program history. He finished second at the Conference Carolinas championship, finishing just one stroke behind the winner. He also won the King University Invitational for the second consecutive year.
After the conference championships, Norum was named Conference Carolinas men's golfer of the year and First Team All-Conference Carolinas, making it now four straight years that Norum has earned all-conference honors. He also was awarded the Al Nida Male Athlete of the Year at the Twisty Awards.
Norum will represent King, and Conference Carolinas at the 2025 NCAA Division II men's golf national championships, scheduled to start Monday, May 19 in Palm Beach, Fla.
