BRISTOL, Tenn. - The Tennessee Sports Writers Association has named
Alyssa Suits of the King University softball team the Softball Player of the Week on April 2.
Suits, a senior third baseman guided the Tornado to a 3-1 mark in the four games she appeared in last week against conference opponents Converse and Emmanuel, hitting .733 with 11 hits in 15 at-bats. Among those, she collected two home runs, two doubles and a triple as she drove in seven runs and came home to score seven more.
The Jonesborough, Tennessee, native earned the Conference Carolinas Player of the Week honor on Tuesday. Among her week's highlights included a 3-for-5 game against Emmanuel with a double and a home run with two RBI and three runs scored and a 3-for-3 game against Converse with three RBI and two runs scored, collecting a double and a triple.
Suits and the rest of the Tornado softball team will be back in action on Friday and Saturday as they host UNC Pembroke and North Greenville.
