BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University softball team extended their win streak to eight with a pair of wins over divisional opponent Belmont Abbey.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME ONE
- Belmont Abbey loaded the bases in the first inning but were unable to score.
- Rachel Jardim put King on the board in the bottom of the first inning as she drove in Alyssa Suits and Katie Ryan with a single to left center.
- The Tornado's bats came alive in the second inning scoring six runs on seven hits. Giana Winge started the inning with a hit by pitch before Staley Vaught singled and Bradlie Warner drew a walk to load the bases. K. Ryan singled to left center allowing both Winge and Vaught to score. Suits then singled to drive in Warner. K. Ryan scored on a Tori Ryan single before Suits scored on a Jardim single to left field. As a pinch hitter, Helina Hahn singled to drive in T. Ryan.
- The Tornado added two more runs in the bottom of the third as K. Ryan scored on a T. Ryan single to right field. Autumn Campbell pinch ran for T. Ryan, stole second, and then scored as Bunsic reached on a fielder's choice.
- Belmont Abbey got their only run in the top of the fourth inning.

- Alyssa Suits reached base on a fielder's choice in the bottom of the first. She was able to score on a Rachel Jardim single up the middle.
- Giana Winge started the second inning with a single up the middle and was able to score on a ground out by Warner. Staley Vaught reached on an error and was then able to score on a Katie Ryan single to center field to put King up 3-0
- The Crusaders scored one run in the top of the fifth, but the Tornado held on for the doubleheader sweep.
