Converse defeats Tornado

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The King University women's volleyball team fell to the Converse University Valkyries on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Converse scored the first two points and led the entire first set. King was led by Cameron Martin with four kills in the set. Five other Tornado players had two kills.
  • Faith Morse, Amaya Hall, and Gracia Love each had an ace in the 25-18 set one loss.
  • King took a 6-3 lead early in the second set, highlighted by two kills from Riley Nelson and an ace from Martin.
  • However, the Valkyries retook the lead to win a second set by the score of 25-18. Martin added three more kills and a service ace. Love also had an ace.
  • Converse dominated the majority of the third set. The Tornado mounted a comeback attempt with a 6-1 run late in the set but ultimately they fell to the home team.
  • Love had a set-high 4 kills and another service ace.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Cameron Martin had a team-high 8 kills and a match-high 28 receptions.
  • Gracia Love had seven kills, a team-high three service aces and 8 digs.
  • Amaya Hall had 16 assists and Faith Morse had a team-high 14 digs. Both had a service ace.
 
UP NEXT
The King University women's volleyball team will conclude this road trip this coming weekend. Their first stop is at Chowan on Friday at 6pm before heading to Barton on Saturday for a first serve scheduled for noon.
