BLUEFIELD, W.Va. – The King University women's volleyball team fell to Bluefield State after forcing a fifth set on Tuesday evening.
Bailey Fersner and
Gracia Love led the Tornado attack with 18 kills each.

FINAL SCORE: King 2, Bluefield State 3 (18-25, 25-22, 19-25, 25-19, 17-19)

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set
- The Tornado got the first two points.
- Both teams kept it within a few points until Bluefield started to pull away late in the set.
- The Big Blue won set one 25-18.
Second Set
- King again started with the first two points of the set, but Bluefield took the edge before the Tornado could tie the set at 13 apiece.
- The Tornado didn't trail again in the set as they tied the match by winning set 2 25-22.
Third Set
- Bluefield State never trailed in the third set after they started the set 4-0.
- The Big Blue would win 25-19.
Fourth Set
- After falling behind 2 sets to 1, King battled with Bluefield State back and forth in the fourth set.
- An attack error from Bluefield State gave King the final point to win 25-19 and force a fifth set.
Fifth Set
- The Tornado commanded the first half of the deciding set, getting out to a 7-3 lead.
- Bluefield Sate would climb back to tie it at 9. It was then a close battle for both teams as they stayed within a point of each other.
- To add to the back and forth nature of the entire match, there were extra points needed before Bluefield claimed the 19-17 fifth set and match victory.

- Imani Stokes led the Big Blue's attack with 14 kills
- Gabby Hale had a team-high 26 assists and a match-high 3 aces.
- As a team, Bluefield State recorded 9 blocks.
