BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University women's volleyball team fell to North Greenville in their home and conference opener on Wednesday night at the Student Center Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set
- King took a 13-8 lead halfway through after scoring five unanswered. In that five point span, Capri Johnson and Bailey Fersner each got a kill while Chloe Clayton got a service ace.
- The North Greenville Trailblazers went on a 6-1 run late in the set to take a 20-17 lead before the Tornado came back off kills by Elena Dyer (2), Gracia Love, Fersner, Johnson, and Riley Nelson.
- Kylie Love closed the set with an ace. Johnson had a total of 5 kills in the first set and Amaya Hall recorded 7 assists while Clayton got 2 of her 4 total service aces in the set.
Second Set
- King trailed all of set 2.
- Fersner tallied 3 kills in the set.
Third Set
- The Tornado and the Trailblazers traded points in the beginning of the third set, but a block from Fersner gave King the lead for good in the set at 9-8.
- G. Love tallied 5 kills in the set as K. Love (6) and Hall (7) assisted in the Tornado attack.
Fourth Set
- The Trailblazers got out to an early lead at 4-1 and then extended it to a max of 7 at 18-11.
- King mounted a comeback but it came up short as North Greenville took set 4 by a score of 25-19 to force a set five.
Fifth Set
- King took a 6-1 lead in the final set, however North Greenville scored 5 in a row to tie it up at six all.
- The first point after the teams switched sides went to the Trailblazers and King was chasing the rest of the set as North Greenville won 15-12 to win the match.

- The Trailblazers had three athletes with double-digit kills: Anna Fiddelke (17), Samantha Ball (13), and Peyton Taylor (10).
- Allison Ball had a match-high 33 assists and a match-high 6 aces.

The Tornado hit the road for two matches this weekend. They will play at Young Harris on Friday at 6pm and at Emmanuel on Saturday at 1pm.
