DUNCAN, S.C. – The no. 8 King University softball team saw their season come to an end in the opening round of the Conference Carolinas tournament Thursday afternoon, falling 5-0 to no. 9 Barton.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Barton struck in the top of the first, scoring two runs on three King errors to take the early lead.
- King got a pair of runners on base in the second, with Tori Ryan leading off with a single to right field, while Aviah Bunsic reached base on an error by the second baseman.
- The Tornado were unable to score, as the next three batters were all struck out, stranding both runners on base.
- In the third, Lilly Million led off with a double, advancing to third when Ryan flew out to center field.
- After Alyssa Suits drew a two-our walk, the inning came to an end with King again stranding two runners on base.
- The Bulldogs scored again in the fifth, and had the chance to do more damage, loading the bases with two outs before a ground ball fielder's choice ended the inning.
- The Tornado had baserunners in both the sixth and seventh inning, but were unable to pull closer, falling 5-0.
FOR THE FOES
- Miranda Holmes had 15 strikeouts in the circle, throwing a complete game shutout.
- Kandyce Condrey was 2-for-3, with a triple and an RBI for Barton.
