Yang, Olson named Conference Carolinas Freshmen of the Month

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Isaac Yang of the King University men's tennis team and Aiden Olson of the King University men's volleyball team have both been chosen as the Conference Carolinas Freshmen of the Month for March. It is the first such honor for both of them in their Tornado careers.

Yang, a freshman from Lima, Peru., went 4-1 in singles play and 4-1 in doubles action during the month. He had a pair of singles wins against conference opponents, including a 6-2, 6-3 win over Mason Harmon of Young Harris, as well as a 6-4, 6-1 win over Emmanuel's Georg Stettler. He also had a nonconference win over Phillippe Zehender of Montevallo, where he made his first career appearance at the top singles flight.

Olson, a freshman from Las Vegas, Nev., played in 22 sets, averaging 10.05 assists and 1.91 digs per set. He had a career-high 39 assists March 2 at Mount Olive, a match where he also had eight digs. He posted his first career double-double against Erskine on March 22, finishing with 27 assists and 12 digs in a three-set win over the Flying Fleet.
