BRISTOL, Tenn. –
Mikhail Pocknett finished with a double-double Wednesday night as the King University men's basketball team rallied from a 39-35 halftime deficit to defeat visiting Alice Lloyd College 89-72 inside the Student Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half
- The Eagles came out of the gates on fire, taking a quick 7-2 lead three minutes into the game.
- After the lead reached 16-6, King scored the next 10 points, tying the score at 16 with 11:45 left to play.
- A Seth Cullen dunk with 6:53 left started what would turn out to be a 6-0 King scoring run, which saw them pull to within 28-26.
- Alice Lloyd held a 36-28 lead with 1:55 left, but the Tornado scored seven of the final 10 points, making the score 39-35 heading into the locker room.
Second Half
- There was a flurry of action at the start of the half, with the Tornado pulling to within 47-44 on a Cullen jump shot with 16:21 remaining.
- A jumper from Petar Mijatovic gave King their first lead of the game, 48-47 with 13:44 left on the clock. It was a lead that King wouldn't relinquish for the rest of the night.
- After the Eagles pulled to within 56-52, both teams traded a three, with Pocknett hitting the shot for the Tornado to keep the lead at 59-55 with under 10 minutes left.
- King went on to score 13 of the next 14 points, with eight of those coming from Pocknett, putting the Tornado in front 72-57 with 5:26 left in the game.
- The Tornado were able to keep the Eagles at bay, with the closest that Alice Lloyd got was 79-69 with 2:11 remaining.
- King finished the game on a 10-3 scoring run, winning 89-72.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Pocknett finished with 29 points and 15 rebounds, his first double-double of the season. It was also the first time a Tornado player had 15 rebounds since Feb. 22, 2022.
- King had a total of five players score in double figures, with Cam George scoring 15, Travis Easterly Jr. scoring 14, Cullen scoring 13 and Bradley Owens adding 10 points.
FOR THE FOES
- Ben Soumahoro led the Eagles with 19 points, while pulling a pair of rebounds. Jackson Tackett and Jared Strickland both had 12 points, with Tackett pulling seven rebounds to lead the team.
