BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University women's volleyball team improved to 7-8 overall with a three-set win over the Erskine Flying Fleet at home on Saturday afternoon. The win also pushes the Tornado to 5-6 against Conference Carolinas opponents.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set
- King opened the match with an ace from Kylie Love and a kill from Princess Emma Oluwa before Erskine scored four unanswered.
- The Tornado responded with four of their own to retake the lead. King wouldn't trail for the remainder of the opening set.
- The home team had their offensive effort come alive in the second half of the set as they scored 10 points and allowed the Flying Fleet just three points in the same time span.
- Oluwa recorded six kills while Gracia Love had 5. King also had three aces from Kylie Love, Amaya Hall, and Gracia Love.
Second Set
- King again struck first in the second set with a kill from Riley Nelson.
- King expanded their lead to five off a kill from Oluwa to make it 13-8 and a kill from Izzy Krick made it a seven-point game at 17-10.
- The Flying Fleet would mount a comeback and tie the game at 22 and took a momentary lead at 24-23 however back-to-back kills from Gracia Love and Capri Johnson gave the Tornado the lead.
- An attack error from Erskine gave King the set victory and a 2-0 lead in the match.
- Nelson and Oluwa each had five kills as the two teams had nine ties in the set.
Third Set
- King opened what would become the final set with a 4-0 lead and never trailed on their way to the match sweep.
- The Tornado closed the set and the match with a 14-4 scoring run that included 7 kills for King.
- Gracia Love had 4 kills in the final set.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
- Both Princess Emma Oluwa and Gracia Love recorded double-doubles. Oluwa had 14 kills and 13 digs while Love had 11 kills, 11 digs, and added an ace.
- Kylie Love had 24 assists and a service ace. Amaya Hall also had a service ace.
- Gabri Puertas had a match-high 14 digs in the back row.
- King's front line had a total of 4 blocks with Izzy Krick getting 1.5.
FOR THE FOES
- Becca Yohe had a team-high 9 kills.
- Astyn Casey had a match-high 14 digs in the back row.
- Erskine recorded 7 total blocks and four service aces.
