Tornado defeat Trailblazers on early Moore goal

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Campbell Moore scored early on Saturday as the King University men's soccer team picked up a Conference Carolinas win, 1-0 over North Greenville. This was the second consecutive conference win for the Tornado.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • It was the 10th minute when Moore scored his goal, taking a pass from his brother Bay Moore to put the Tornado in front, 1-0.
  • In the 35th minute, Gauthier Lumale made his first save of the day, keeping the Trailblazers off the board.
  • Neither team was able to get another shot in the final 10 minutes, and the Tornado entered halftime with a slim 1-0 advantage.
  • C. Moore had another shot on goal just two minutes into the second half, forcing the North Greenville goalkeeper to make his first save of the match.
  • A few minutes later, Ricky Sexton got a shot on goal, forcing the goalkeeper to make another save.
  • The Trailblazers got a couple of shots in the 59th and 63rd minutes, but Lumale was able to stop both of them.
  • Renan Caruso took a shot on goal in the 79th minute, which was stopped by the North Greenville goalie.
  • The last North Greenville shot came in the 84th minute, and sailed wide left. The Trailblazers were unable to get another shot after that, despite heavy pressure as the Tornado held on for the victory.

  • It was the first goal of the season for C. Moore, while for B. Moore it was his first assist of the season.
  • It was the second consecutive shutout for Lumale, and his third of the season. He finished with three saves on the match.
