Mahoney tabbed first team All-SACC

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Trent Mahoney of the King University men's wrestling team was selected first team All-South Atlantic Conference Carolinas (SACC) when the league announced their awards on Thursday. This marks the second time in his career he has been selected first team all-conference.

Mahoney went 7-3 in SACC competition this year, one coming by pin and another coming by technical fall. A the Super Region II Championships, Mahoney set the single season wins record with 32 and is now 33-9 on the season after finishing runner-up at the regional. That finish earned him his first career NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships berth. He owns three technical fall wins and 16 via pin.

In the fall, Mahoney won the Georgia Open before finishing runner-up at the King Open. This spring he finished fourth at the Greyhound Open and took second at the Super Region II Championships. He started the season with an 11-match winning streak.
Mahoney was also selected first team All-SACC during his freshman season in 2020-21 and didn't compete in 2021-22.
