BRISTOL, Tenn. –
Ella Froehlich of the King University women's soccer team has been named the Conference Carolinas women's soccer Offensive Player of the Week, the first time in her career that she has earned conference honors. It is the second straight week that a Tornado won conference recognition as well.
Froehlich, a freshman from Sunbury, Ohio, scored two goals and had two assists, including scoring the game-winning goal in a 3-2 victory over Belmont Abbey College. She also had an assist on each of the other two Tornado goals. Saturday against Chowan University, she had the lone Tornado goal in a 3-1 loss.
Froehlich is second on the team this season with five goals, while also being tied for the lead in assists with three. She has scored in two consecutive matches, and in four of King's last five matches.
The Tornado will continue their homestand Wednesday afternoon when they host Emmanuel University. Kickoff from Parks Field is scheduled for 1 p.m.
