MARS HILL, N.C. – The King University women's volleyball team fell behind Young Harris College, but fought back to force a fifth set. However, the Mountain Lions took the final set to win the match 3-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set
- The lead went back-and-forth in the early going as a 4-0 King spurt gave the Tornado a 6-4 lead.
- Abigale Jayne posted a kill on the run and Faith Morse served up an ace.
- However, the Mountain Lions responded with fourth straight points to take an 11-8 advantage.
- From there, the Lions gradually extended their lead, eventually winning the set 25-21.
Second Set
- Young Harris jumped out to a 7-2 lead following a 4-0 spurt in the second set.
- The Mountain Lions later used a 5-0 spurt to put the set out of reach, taking the frame 25-11.
Third Set
- After the third set went back-and-forth, King scored six straight points started by a Julie Danner kill.
- Chloe Clayton and Jayne followed with a block before consecutive kills from Danner and Lydia Buchanan gave King a 13-8 lead.
- King held the lead there before a Danner kill and Buchanan ace gave King the 25-17 victory.
Fourth Set
- Young Harris held the lead early before Hailee Blankenship came up with a kill and an ace.
- A Danner kill followed to knot the tally at seven.
- King later scored four straight points, making the run 9-2 in all, vaulting the Tornado into a 13-9 lead.
- On the 4-0 spurt, Danner and two kills and Clayton added another while Clayton and Jayne posted another block.
- A kill from Buchanan and ace from Hannah Rogers gave King a 22-15 lead as the Tornado went on to score the final three points and take the set 25-17.
Fifth Set
- Young Harris got off to a hot start, taking a 6-1 lead.
- The Tornado couldn't recover from there as Young Harris took the set 15-5 and the match 3-2.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Danner led King with 11 kills and 15 digs.
- Buchanan followed with nine kills to go along with 24 assists and seven digs.
- Kylie Love also handed out 22 assists while Rogers posted 26 digs.
FOR THE FOES
- Nicole Klucharich led Young Harris with 20 kills and 15 digs while Shelby Mullins followed with 11 kills.
- Mollie Lawrence handed out 45 assists while Kori Still posted 32 digs.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The 26 digs for Rogers is a career-high.
