BRISTOL, Tenn. – In the third set of NCAA Region Rankings, the King University softball team moved up to fourth. The Tornado move up one spot as they were ranked fifth in each of the last two rankings.
The NCAA Region Rankings are used to select the NCAA Tournament field in each region. Eight teams will qualify for the NCAA Southeast Regional Championship. After the automatic bids are awarded in each conference, the NCAA Region Rankings are used to select the final five participants.
The Tornado are fourth, behind Anderson University, Lenoir-Rhyne University, and University of North Georgia.
King is 41-15 on the season and the Tornado have won a school-record 15 straight games. The Tornado won their second regular season Conference Carolinas title and followed that with a 4-0 weekend to take their third Conference Carolinas Tournament crown.
