BRISTOL, Tenn. - Prior to the start of the 2025 Conference Carolinas Softball Championship, the league announced their all-conference awards on Thursday that were voted on by the Coference Carolinas softball head coaches.
Five King University softball players earned awards.
Rachel Jardim and
Giana Winge were both named to the First Team as first base and catcher, respectively. Named to the Second Team were
Tori Ryan as the designated player,
Katie Ryan as an outfielder, and pitcher
Kylee Horsley.
Jardim, a graduate student from Granada Hills, California, hit .389 in 72 at-bats against conference opponents. She tallied 28 hits with 10 doubles, three home runs, and 21 RBIs. She had a slugging percentage of .653 and an on-base percentage of .446. Over the course of the season, she made 150 put outs at first base, was a part of 8 double plays, and recorded just 2 errors. This is her first All-Conference Carolinas award.
Winge, a freshman from Plainfield, Illinois, stepped in behind the plate after injuries to her teammates and became a key part of both the offense and defense for the Tornado. She hit .381 in the 5th hole in 63 at-bats with 24 hits, 2 doubles, and 4 home runs. She had 14 RBIS, a slugging percentage of .603 and on-base percentage of .458. Defensively she had 78 put outs and caught 5 runners stealing. Her fielding percentage was .989 with just one error. This is her first All-Conference Carolinas award.
T. Ryan, a senior from Bristol, Tennessee, recorded a .384 batting average across 73 at-bats. She tallied 28 hits with 12 double and two home runs while batting in 29 runs. She also reached based on 10 walks and had 4 sacrifice flys. She slugging percentage in conference games was .630 and she had a .437 on-base percentage.This is her second All-Conference Carolinas award.
K. Ryan, a sophomore from Bluffton, South Carolina, hit .323 in the lead-off spot for King. She had 21 hits with 4 doubles and a home run. She has been walked 16 times while recorded 6 sacrifice hits and fly. She has scored 27 runs and has 10 RBIs this season. Her slugging percentage is .431 and her on-base percentage is .464. She had 32 put outs in the field. This is her first All-Conference Carolinas award.
Horsley, a freshman from Stoneville, North Carolina, helped lead the Tornado from the circle. Her ERA is 2.53 with a 3-1 record in 44.1 innings pitched. She struck out 29 conference opponents while walking just 15. Facing 171 at-bats, she gave up just three home runs and the batting average against her was .269. She also pitched a shutout against Converse. This is her first All-Conference Carolinas award.
The King University softball team will begin the Conference Carolinas Softball Tournament as the #7 seed on Thursday.
