BRISTOL, Tenn. –
Camryn Haag of the King University softball team was selected College Sports Information Director's of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District. She becomes the third individual in program history to earn this award.
The last Tornado to be selected CoSIDA Academic All-District was Hannah Devotie in 2015-16, and the first individual to earn honors was Cassie Ringstaff in 2013-14.
Haag has carried a 3.31 GPA while earning her degree in Exercise Science with a concentration in Kinesiology. She has been named to the Dean's List three times as well as the Provost's List and has twice been named academic All-Conference Carolinas.
On the field, the senior might be having the best season of her career as she leads the Tornado in games with at least two runs batted in with 15. Her 45 runs batted in rank her 20th in the region and 52nd in all of NCAA Division II. Haag has hit 16 doubles this year, ranking her 11th in the region and 43rd in the country. She owns a batting average of .296 and has hit seven home runs. In the Conference Carolinas Softball Championship semifinal, she matched a school record with nine assists.
She will now be eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-America honors, which is scheduled to be released on June 7.
