Deniz Aytun of the King University women's tennis team closed the season on a high note as she was selected Conference Carolinas Player of the Week. In two matches last week, Aytun went 3-1.
Playing at No. 1 singles, Aytun went a perfect 2-0 while going 1-1 playing at No. 1 doubles. She defeated Micayah Porter of Chowan University Friday afternoon in singles play 6-3, 6-3 after a 6-1 win in doubles. On Saturday against Barton College she topped Elmear Maher 7-6 (7-4), 7-5 to cap off her perfect week in singles action.
This marks the second Conference Carolinas Player of the Week with the last time coming on October 20.
