King Falls on the Road to UVA Wise

The Tornado fell on the road to UVA Wise in both men’s and women’s tennis

Bristol, Tenn. – The King University Men's and Women's Tennis teams headed north to UVA Wise and fell in both matches after a rain delay pushed the match. The Men's team lost 7-0 while the women had a battle, falling 4-3.
 
Women:
 
The King University Women's Tennis team, with a close match having to go through all the singles matches to make a decision, would fall, however, 4-3. With a doubles showing for King, winning two of the three matches, claiming the doubles point with a win of 6-4 from Deniz Aytun and Trinity Moore. King would get the other doubles win by forfeit.
 
Aytun would come out on top in a close three-set win with a 6-4 first-set victory to put herself in the lead. She would fall in the second set, losing 6-3, but would hold strong in the fourth, winning 10-8.
The only other win in singles came from a forfeit in the sixes match, with Sarah Hale earning the win.

Men:
 
The King University Men's Tennis team went up to UVA Wise with a rain delay pushing the match back. The men had a struggle to figure out the match, with a 7-0 loss to a non-conference opponent.
 
In doubles, King was swept in all three matches and had two close singles matches.
 
The two close sets came from Danny Neleman and Lucas Machado, both winning their sets 6-4.

Up Next: The Tornado will come back home on Friday March 13th as they take on Lees-McRae in a school rivalry match at 1:00 pm.
