Rhys Halcrow picked up a win at no. 2 singles for the King University men's tennis team Saturday, but it wasn't enough to topple the Converse University Valkyries, who won the match 6-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Converse swept doubles play by matching 6-3 scores to claim the point.
- Alex Sodre won the first set at no. 1 singles 6-1 before dropping sets two and three.
- Halcrow won his match at no. 2 singles 6-1, 7-5 to get King on the board.
- At no. 4 singles, Miodrag Popovic took the second set to a tiebreaker, but ultimately fell 7-6, 7-6 7-5).
- The Valkyries also won at no. 3, no. 5 and no. 6 singles.
UP NEXT
- King takes to the road this week, taking on North Greenville University Friday and Southern Wesleyan University Saturday in Conference Carolinas action.
- Converse will take on Chowan University Friday afternoon before facing Barton College in another road matchup Saturday.
