BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University softball team had a big week, and one Tornado was recognized by Conference Carolinas.
Carly Turner led King to four wins over the week as she was selected Conference Carolinas Player of the Week.
Turner hit .458 with seven runs scored and eight runs batted in for the Tornado in six games last week. In King's win over 11th-ranked Lincoln Memorial University, Turner started the game in the circle and hit two three-run home runs to power King to the 13-5 victory. For the week she posted 11 hits, three doubles and two home runs. She also slugged .833 and had an on base percentage of .480 leading King to a 4-2 week.
This marks the second time in her career, and first time this season Turner has been selected Conference Carolinas Player of the Week.
King is in action again on Wednesday when they host Concord University at 1:00 p.m.
