Dallas Boone became the first King University men's wrestler to win a Super Region II championship since Elijah Seay in 2019 Saturday afternoon, finishing the day 3-0 in the 157 pound bracket. He was one of three national qualifiers for the Tornado, along with returning All-American
Christian Small (141 pounds) and
Demetri Teddlie (149 pounds)

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Small started his day with a bye before winning via major decision over Brandon Seawright of Limestone. In his semifinal match, he won a 9-5 decision over Coker's Omar Armengol. He lost the championship match to Lander's Zeth Brower via 6-0 decision to finish runner-up for the second consecutive season.
- Teddlie also received a bye at 149 pounds before winning decisions over Hayden Waddell of Mount Olive (10-6) and Jake Piccirilli of UNC Pembroke (10-6) to reach the championship, where he lost a 9-2 decision to defending national champion Isiah Royal of Newberry.
- Boone's day started with a quarterfinal win over Hunter Haven of Limestone before winning his semifinal match via 18-9 major decision over Cliff Owens, clinching a berth in the championship match. He would win the finals match by injury default over Mount Olive's Jake Nicolosi to win the title.
- Franky Medina finished fourth at 133 pounds, just narrowly missing out on qualifying for nationals. He had a long day, as he lost his quarterfinal match to Hunter Ross of Coker before winning two straight matches in the consolation round to earn a spot in the third-place match, where he lost a 4-2 decision to Newberry's Timothy Luker.
- Rylee Billings took fifth at 125 pounds, finishing the day 2-2. He lost his quarterfinal match to Stephen Spitko of Coker before receiving a bye and winning a decision over Lens Mathurin of Mount Olive. He lost his consolation semifinal match to Kevin Radcliff of Limestone before winning the fifth-place match via medical forfeit.
- After losing his first match of the day, David Varner won his first consolation match 11-8 over Kyle Daley of Limestone before dropping a 4-2 decision to Connor Smith of Emmanuel.

- Boone, Small and Teddlie will compete at the NCAA Division II National Championships on March 11-12 in St. Louis, Mo.
