BRISTOL, Tenn. –
Demetri Teddlie of the King University men's wrestling team has been named the Conference Carolinas men's wrestling player of the week after his 5-0 weekend at the season-opening Pioneer Duals.
Teddlie won all five of his matches, with four of those wins coming via first period pin. He started the day by pinning Corbin Saul of Davis & Elkins in 1:39 before earning his lone decision of the day, a 6-3 win over Evan Davis of Ashland. He won both of his next two matches via fall, before closing the day with a 2:26 pin of Cam Barr from Glenville State.
This is the first time that the junior from Shreveport, La. has been honored with a weekly award from the conference office.
The Tornado are back in action Wednesday night when they host defending South Atlantic Conference Carolinas champions Lander University. First whistle from the Student Center is scheduled for 7 p.m., with live video available through the Tornado Sports Network.
