Taylor Stubbs scored her first goal of the season Wednesday afternoon as the King University women's soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw with Converse University.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Though neither team was able to score in the first half, the Tornado controlled the stat sheet, as they had five shots on goal, two of which came from Bella Crisci.
- Entering the match in the 22nd minute, it didn't take long for Crisci to make an impact, as they took a shot less then a minute later, putting one on goal shortly thereafter.
- Victoria Thauer also had a shot on goal, taking one in the 31st minute.
- The Tornado got a pair of shots on goal in the closing minutes, including one by Veronica Roach in the final seconds, but were unable to score.
- Coming out of the halftime break, it was the Valkyries who struck first, with the goal coming in the 54th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
- King evened the score in the 77th minute, when Mackenzie Winters found Stubbs, who beat the goalkeeper top right to level the score.
- Both teams took shots in the final 13 minutes, but neither team was able to find the back of the net, with the match ending 1-1.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The goal scored by Stubbs was just her second career goal, and the first since April 7, 2021 when she scored at Lees-McRae.
- Roach finished the match with four shots, marking the second time this season that she has had four shots, which is the most in a single match this season for the Tornado.
- Kristal Garcia made a pair of saves in net.
- Crisci and Ariana Gallegos both had two shots on goal.
FOR THE FOES
- Daelynn Perry made six saves in net for the Valkyries.
- Kiersten Schrawyer was the goal scorer, and was one of three Valkyries to record shots on goal.

- The Tornado will start a multi-match roadtrip Saturday at Mount Olive.
- Converse will also be on the road Saturday, taking on Chowan.
