MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The King University women's soccer team played a solid first half at the University of Mount Olive on Saturday afternoon. However, the Trojans led 1-0 at the break and scored two early second half goals to win the Conference Carolinas contest 3-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The opening 45 minutes was played fairly even as King outshot Mount Olive 7-5 and each team placed two shots on frame.
- Brianna Sabatino had a shot turned away in the 12th minute before Veronica Roach ripped a shot labeled for the upper right corner that was turned away in the 34th minute.
- Earlier in the 34th minute, Mount Olive got on the board off of a free kick.
- The kick was placed near the back post from Riley Baker and Olivia Womack headed inside the post as it trickled across the goal line.
- The Tornado took one more shot over the final 10 minutes, but it was blocked as Mount Olive held a 1-0 lead at the half.
- The second half was all Mount Olive as the Trojans outshot King 10-0 and held the Tornado without a corner kick.
- The Trojans extended the lead with a goal from Karen Barry in the 51st minute before she struck again in the 63rd minute.
- From there Mount Olive packed in the defense to take the 3-0 win.

- Kristal Garcia posted eight saves in the contest.
FOR THE FOES
- Mount Olive took 11 corner kicks in the game and 15 shots.
- The Trojans placed 11 of those shots on target and Nicole Solicito posted two saves in the contest.
