Box Score 2 GREENWOOD, S.C. – The King University softball team dropped a pair of contests on Saturday as the Lander Tournament concluded. King fell to Carson-Newman University 9-0 before dropping and extra innings affair to Concord University 4-1.

- Sydney Bailey led the King offense with two hits on the day.
- Azlee Sells ripped her first home run of the season.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS – CARSON-NEWNAN
- Abby Fiessinger put Carson-Newman ahead with a home run in the bottom of the first inning.
- The Eagles the plated seven runs in the second inning, four on a home run from Shannon Smith.
- King threatened in the third with hits from Bailey and Danielle Parks. However, both runners were stranded.
- Carson-Newman added a run in the fourth to take the game 9-0.

- Smith drove in four while KaraLynn Levi posted two hits for the Eagles.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS - CONCORD
- Concord nearly scored in the second inning, but the Tornado defense came up with a pair of outs following a double. King cut down one runner at third and the other at home.
- Sells gave King the lead in the third with a home run.
- However, the Mountain Lions came back with a run on a Darby Fitzpatrick double in the top of the fourth.
- The score remained the same as the Tornado tried to win the game in the seventh inning.
- Bailey came up with a one-out single and a two-out Bailey Deason single put two runners on.
- However, Cartney Schoolcraft got out of the jam for Concord.
- The Mountain Lions took the lead in the eighth on a Sarah Thompson double.
- Concord added two more runs to take the contest 4-1 as the Tornado went down in order in the bottom of the inning.
