BELMONT, N.C. – The King University women's tennis team fell to the Crusaders of Belmont Abbey College in a tough Conference Carolinas road match up. After dropping to a 2-1 disadvantage after doubles play the Tornado went on to post three singles victories dropping the league dual 5-4.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ashley Salazar and Marianne Hull earned the Tornado a victory at No. 1 doubles over DeFrench and Weber 8-6 as King went into singles play down 1-2.
- At No. 1 singles Nia Gilliam sailed to victory over Belmont Abbey's DeFrench 6-4, 6-2.
- Hull recorded another victory for King at No. 2 singles in a three set battle over Cox 7-6(6), 4-6, 6-4.
- The Tornado earned another tough three set victory at No. 4 singles when Ashley Salazar came from behind to defeat Seitz 5-7, 6-4, 6-1.
- Belmont Abbey took victory at numbers 3, 5, and 6 singles earned the match win 5-4.

- King hosts Emmanuel College tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. in a Conference Carolinas match that was postponed from Friday.
