Tornado fall to #22 North Georgia

BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men's tennis team faced a tough challenge on Tuesday afternoon when they host 22nd-ranked University of North Georgia. The Nighthawks gained the advantage in doubles play, and didn't look back, taking the dual 9-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • At No. 1 doubles, Moritz Poswiat and Luis Delgado faced the duo of Philipp Mueller and Niklas Zielen, who are ranked 17th in the Southeast Region. Poswiat and Delgado kept the match close, but fell 8-4.
  • The duo of Kyle Logue and Lenny Keswani dropped a tight 9-7 decision to the Nighthawk tandem of Lukas Moritzen and Andre Canino at No. 3 doubles.
  • In singles play, Poswiat squared off with Zielen, who is ranked ninth in the southeast region, at the top flight. Zielen earned the win for the Nighthawks 6-1, 6-3.
  • At No. 3 singles, Delgado fell 6-4, 7-6 (9-7) to Hugues Renald.
  • Logue nearly came away with a victory at No. 6 singles, falling to Matheus Pineda 6-3, 4-6, 10-7.
