BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University women's tennis team closed their home schedule on Sunday with a nonconference dual against Carson-Newman University. Katya Cerny led the way for the Tornado, taking wins in singles and doubles, but that was all King would get as the Eagles took the match 7-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Cerny and partner Nia Gilliam got the Tornado on the board in doubles play with an 8-1 victory over Catherine Cook and Merry Carson at the third flight.
- However, the Eagles took the other two doubles matches to gain the advantage.
- At No. 4 singles, Cerny took another victory, defeating Haleigh Chastain 6-2, 6-4.
- Gilliam nearly came away with a win at the top flight, taking the first set from Ali Harris 6-2. However, Harris came back to take the final two sets 6-0, 6-0, giving Carson-Newman the 7-2 victory.
