King falls to SWU in ConfCarolinas opener

CELMSON, S.C. – The King University women's tennis team opened up Conference Carolinas play against Southern Wesleyan University Saturday afternoon in Clemson, S.C. The Tornado were defeated by the Warriors 9-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • At No. 2 singles Katya Cerny was just edged by the Warrior's Jennifer Ball 7-5, 6-3.
  • Alyssa Salazar took three games in each set over Samantha Powell falling 6-3, 6-3.
  • Haley Maloney won six games on Southern Wesleyan's Liz Mulkey in an 8-6 defeat at No. 6 singles.

  • King will continue league play as they host Erskine College next Saturday at 10:00 am.
