Tornado drop fall finale to Milligan

BRISTOL, Tenn. – In their first home match of the season, and a match that marked the end to their fall season, the King University women's tennis team fell to Milligan College on Friday evening. The Tornado took one of the three doubles matches, but the Buffaloes earned the 7-2 win by taking five singles matches.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • For the second time in as many matches, Haley Maloney and Marianne Hull earned a victory in doubles play. The duo topped Martha Wells and Kate Booker 8-4 at No. 2 doubles.
  • Katya Cerny took a win in singles for the Tornado. After taking the first set, her opponent retired.
  • At No. 5 singles, Malone fell 6-2, 6-4.

UP NEXT

  • The Tornado begin the spring season on February 13 when they travel to take on both Tennessee Wesleyan College and Lee University. King faces Tennessee Wesleyan at 10:00 a.m. in Athens, Tenn., before closing the day in Cleveland against Lee at 4:00 p.m.
