BRISTOL, Tenn. - King College posted matching 9-0 wins over Bluefield (Va.) College in home tennis action Tuesday.
With the results the Lady Tornado reached the 10-win mark at 10-7 while the Tornado ended the day 11-6.
King started the day by sweeping doubles action by a combined score of 48-6 in both men's and women's action. The Tornado lost five games while the Lady Tornado only dropped one doubles' game.
The 9-0 score was the fifth time King had a men's match end in 2011 with that score and the sixth time an opponent was shutout. The Lady Tornado has one fewer 9-0 score than the Tornado on the season.
When the two played at Bluefield on Sept. 14, 2010, the Lady Tornado won 8-1 while the Tornado's score was 9-0.
King goes to Belmont Abbey (N.C.) College for a 3 p.m. contest Wednesday before going onto Coker (S.C.) College Thursday.
