Tornado start season at Eye Opener Invitational

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The King University women's cross country team started their 2024 season at the Eye Opener Invitational on Friday night, finishing in 11th-place, with Ermay Vazquez Adame leading the way with a 55th-place finish.

LOCATION: Milliken Research Center; Spartanburg, S.C.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Vazquez Adame finished in 20:08.16, which bested her result from last year's meet by over a minute.
  • Morgan Whitley finished in 20:49, finishing in 75th place.
  • Emily Ward set a new personal record for the course, finishing in 20:53.
  • Faith Carter finished in 22:28.90, with Mandy Lowery following in 22:47.92 and Abigail Brammer in 26:41.34.
UP NEXT
  • King will be back in action Sept. 13 when they compete at the FireTower Project, hosted by Appalachian State.
