Franky Medina of the King University men's wrestling team was named to the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Scholar All-America team. This is the second consecutive season that Medina has earned this honor.
A junior from Murfreesboro, Tenn. who is majoring in Chemistry, Medina finished the season with a 20-12 record, including a 10-5 mark in dual matches. He finished fourth at the NCAA Super Region II championships.
In order for a student-athlete to be nominated to the Division II Scholar All-American team, they must have a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale, with that benchmark at 3.25 for those who qualified for the 2023 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships and a 3.0 for those who were All-Americans at the 2023 Nationals. Wrestlers must have competed in four dates of competition.
