Sioux Falls, S.D. The King University Men's Wrestling team finished with an All-American at 149 pounds in
Brennan Watkins on the final day of the NCAA National Championship. Watkins fought his way through the tough national-caliber wrestlers both days and came out in eighth place in the country at 149 for the Division II level.
Â
Watkins finished day one, guaranteeing his All-American spot with a pin victory yesterday. With the morning match not going as he wanted, falling in a close 9-7 decision with Watkins getting two takedowns in the last period but unable to get past the stalling to win.
Â
In the seventh-place match, he started out in the lead with an early takedown but was taken down himself in the second period. It was all tied up at the end of regulation, and Watkins would be taken down in a sudden victory to place eighth in the country.
