King Takes on the Country on Day One of Nationals

The Tornado takes on the Country on day one of the 2026 NCAA National Championships

Sioux Falls, S.D. The King University Men's Wrestling team sent four wrestlers to the 2026 NCAA Division II Men's Wrestling National Championship. Brennan Watkins is staying alive, moving into tomorrow with two big wins to finish off day one.
 
Watkins started Nationals with a tough loss to the number one-ranked 149-pound athlete, falling 7-2 by decision. He would head to the consolation rounds with only one chance to get an All-American win out. He went into a tough round two with a 4-1 sudden victory in overtime to move on to the next round. He would win in a decisive victory, winning by pin in 5:36.
 
Watkins will continue his national championship run tomorrow as he keeps pushing for a higher All-American spot.
