BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University women's soccer team got off to an early start on Saturday morning against Chowan University. The Tornado took the lead in the opening 15 minutes, but the Hawks came back to even the score in the first half. Chowan then scored two second-half goals to take the contest 3-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Chowan took the first two shot attempts of the contest, but one was blocked and the other was off target.
- Ella Froehlich took the first shot for the Tornado in the 13th minutes. Her attempt beat the goalkeeper in the middle of the net to give King the 1-0 lead.
- Chowan answered in the 20th minute on a goal from Natasha Bailey, assisted by Karla Artolozaga to even the score.
- Kristal Garcia kept the game even when she turned away a penalty kick in the 22nd minute and came up with another save in the 25th minute.
- Garcia added a pair of saves in the final 10 minutes to keep the game even at 1-1 at the half.
- The opening 15 minutes of the second half was played even until Garcia came up with a save in the 61st minute.
- The Hawks then broke through six minutes later, scoring twice in 30 seconds.
- Laura Hulme found Artolozaga in the 67th minute for the first goal before Hulme found the back of the net in the 68th minute to make it a 3-1 Chowan advantage.
- From there, the Hawks packed in their defense, not allowing another Tornado shot to take the contest 3-1.

- King took six shots in the contest, placing one on target.
- The Tornado also earned one corner kick on the day.
- Froehlich scored her fifth goal of the season while Garcia made five saves
