Maryville, Tenn.- The King University women's soccer team came up short on the road, falling 6-1 to Maryville College on Wednesday, September 2, at the MC Soccer Complex in Maryville, Tenn.
Maryville built a 2-0 lead in the first half and added four more goals after the break. King managed to get on the board in the second half, with
Vodi Mangal scoring her first goal of the season. The Tornado fired 15 shots, nine on target, but were stymied by strong goalkeeping from Maryville's Paige Silva, who made eight saves.
Rowan Phillips played the full 90 minutes in goal for King, making one save. King earned three corners and committed seven fouls, while Maryville tallied 18 shots with seven on goal and five assists.
