BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University women's soccer team kept their Conference Carolinas Northwest Division record unblemished on Tuesday afternoon with a 3-2 victory over Belmont Abbey College. King came from behind with consecutive goals from
Mackenzie Winters,
Taylor Stubbs and
Ella Froehlich to take the league tilt.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Belmont Abbey quickly opened on the attack with a shot that was turned away by Kristal Garcia 17 seconds into the contest.
- Garcia came up with another save in the second minute as the Crusader pressure continued.
- The pressure paid off in the 10th minute when Logan Parry found the back of the net to give Belmont Abbey the 1-0 lead.
- King eventually turned the field as Winters got behind the defense in the 30th minute on a pass from Stubbs out to the left.
- Winters then beat the goalkeeper to even the tally at 1-1 as the contest headed to halftime.
- Stubbs then made it a 2-1 Tornado advantage in the 50th minute when she got behind the defense and beat the goalkeeper to the far post.
- Garcia came up with a save before King extended the lead in the 66th minute.
- This time it was Froehlich that found the back of the net in the middle of the goal.
- Garcia added another save in the 83rd minute to keep the lead at two goals, but the Crusaders pulled within one with a penalty kick goal from Parry in the 87th minute.
- The Tornado then defended for the final three minutes to take the 3-2 victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Stubbs netted her ninth goal of the season while Froehlich and Winters tallied their fourth and third goals, respectively.
- Garcia made five saves in the victory.
- The Tornado placed three of their six shots on target and earned two corner kicks.
FOR THE FOES
- Belmont Abbey posted 18 shots, placing seven on target.
- They also earned 14 corner kicks.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Tornado are now 3-0 in Conference Carolinas Northwest Division contests and are the only team with a divisional win so far this season.
